The epic continues...

Fri Aug 21, 2009, 5:25 PM
Update:
Cacoethes Publishing House has finally gotten back to me after months of silence, but only after I threatened legal action. The CEO insists that the company isn't closed and that they're 'just having some problems'. I don't believe it though. We'll see.

+++++++++++++++++++++

Firstly I want to apologise to anybody who pre-ordered a copy of my book. At this stage it's looking like the company has folded in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis. Their website is still up, but that's the word I'm hearing on the grapevine.

I've been unable to establish any communication with Catoethes Publishing House regarding the status of Silhouettes or how people will expect to get refunded, and I don't have the funds to start a legal battle. Basically it seems that they hit rough water and jumped overboard, leaving the ship to wallow.

Due to their less-than-noble actions, I won't be able to regain the rights to my work for a few years, and even then it'll carry a legally questionable pall which will probably prevent it from ever being published. I'm not so worried about that though, just about the friends who placed orders in good faith.

I'll let you know if I find out more.
For now, if anybody wishes to question Cacoethes about their orders, they have a contact link at the top of their webpage:

I'd be very interested if anybody receives a reply.

Alternatively, if you wish, please open up a Paypal dispute. You can get the transaction ID by downloading your history as an Excel file.

Silhouettes coming soon!

Wed May 20, 2009, 10:23 PM
My novel should be released in the upcoming months (it was supposed to be July, but now I'm not sure. Could still be.)

Cacoethes Publishing has finally put the print version back up, which is great because who the hell reads e-books!?

Here it is:

I will personally hug and kiss every person who buys a copy, regardless of gender.

EDIT: Devart has taken action and removed three stolen pics from :iconjodrim-k: that we alerted them to. But other pics in the gallery remain, and I'm pretty sure they're all stolen too. What do we do about this?

It's always nice to have your contempt for the human race justified.

Feel free to abuse this person: :iconjodrim-k:
For stealing this:

I've reported them for it, and for also nicking Simpsons art by :iconspacecoyote: .

Judging by the gallery, I think everything else is stolen too. Have a look-see if you recognize anything:

Silhouettes update

Sat Mar 28, 2009, 7:53 PM
The pre-order page for my novel, Silhouettes, has been down for a while on account of Cacoethes Publishing fart-arsing around with their new website.

The good news is that it's back up:

The bad news is that the release may possibly be pushed back by a few months due to the global failure of Capitalism. When will folk learn that the Soviets were right?
