Cacoethes Publishing House has finally gotten back to me after months of silence, but only after I threatened legal action. The CEO insists that the company isn't closed and that they're 'just having some problems'. I don't believe it though. We'll see.
+++++++++++++++++++++
Firstly I want to apologise to anybody who pre-ordered a copy of my book. At this stage it's looking like the company has folded in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis. Their website is still up, but that's the word I'm hearing on the grapevine.
I've been unable to establish any communication with Catoethes Publishing House regarding the status of Silhouettes or how people will expect to get refunded, and I don't have the funds to start a legal battle. Basically it seems that they hit rough water and jumped overboard, leaving the ship to wallow.
Due to their less-than-noble actions, I won't be able to regain the rights to my work for a few years, and even then it'll carry a legally questionable pall which will probably prevent it from ever being published. I'm not so worried about that though, just about the friends who placed orders in good faith.
I'll let you know if I find out more.
For now, if anybody wishes to question Cacoethes about their orders, they have a contact link at the top of their webpage:

I'd be very interested if anybody receives a reply.
